Gavyn is a polished, multi-faceted, and accomplished artist with a very significant following among artists, producers, and insiders throughout the music industry. As the lead singer of groups signed to major labels—J Records and Def Jam Records respectively—he has toured with N-Sync, Britney Spears, Usher, Bow Wow, Faith Evans, and Nas, as well as toured and performed with R&B legend Babyface. It doesn’t stop there. Gavyn’s talents and projects have led him to roles in both television and major motion pictures. Some of his credits include the Showtime series “Soul Food” and box office hit “Honey,” starring Jessica Alba.
Gavyn was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, where he grew up singing with his family in church. It wasn’t long before he moved on from singing in groups to performing as a soloist and lead in choirs, eventually going on to win Regional and National competitions across the country. Found by Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Tracey Edmonds, Gavyn has made a focused and concerted climb up the industry ladder. To date, Gavyn has worked with some of the biggest producers in the game including Rodney Jerkins, AC, Sauce, Mike City, Sean Garrett, Scott Storch, the Internz, the Underdogs, Brian Kennedy, and Big Boi from Outkast, to name a few.
Gavyn has appropriately been dubbed “The R&Beast,” with producers across the industry calling him “…one of the hardest working artists with one of the strongest live voices in the industry.” Growing up listening to Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Sting, Jodeci, and R. Kelly molded Gavyn into the well-rounded artist and vocal powerhouse that he has become. Gavyn is ready to take the next step as a recording superstar.
