      Controversies
      Chief Keef
On December 6, 2013, a series of now mostly deleted Tweets from Chief Keef and Migos occurred. Chief Keef tweeted first with an allegation that Migos was involved in an indirect diss against him. On the same day in a separate Tweet, Migos made it seem as if the issue wasn't as important. On December 9, 2013, Migos released their track "Jealousy." After the track was released people started to believe that the Twitter beef with Chief Keef was sent to the recording booth. On "Jealousy," the hook plays on the phrase "sneak diss" hinting to a more violent confrontation. Quavo responded with "I mean, like your Momma used to say, if the shoe fits. If you listen to the song, it's self-explanatory. If do one, say ya name to keep it one hundred. Ain't no need for me to be sneak-dissin'…We don't do no sneak-dissin'." Takeoff responded with, "You know, people gonna take it however they gonna take it and put it however they wanna put it." Offset added that the first Tweet from Chief Keef was unexpected saying, "Honestly, it caught us by surprise."

On November 7, 2014, when Migos allegedly put hands on Chief Keef's GBE member Capo, it prompted Chief Keef's older cousin and former GBE member Fredo Santana to threaten the group with death for trying his set. On, November 15, 2014, Migos was at the premier DC shake joint for a performance and after their set, they were approached by a group of men and a fight occurred. People took to Twitter to describe what they saw, and many tweeted that Quavo got his chain taken. Following the fight, Chief Keef took to Instagram and posted a now deleted picture of what appeared to be one of Migos' signature Quality Control chains with the caption, "What is this?" Offset responded to the altercation by saying, "F*ck 'em. Nothing's going on. That's it. F*ck 'em. F*ck 'em, f*ck 'em, f*ck 'em, like OG Maco said, F*ck 'em!"

On November 25, 2014, Quavo released a diss song entitled "Tha Truth," in which he speaks on the chain snatching. The track begins with a Facetime call between Quavo and someone who appears to be one of the people allegedly involved in the chain snatching, telling Quavo who he thinks has his chain. On the hook Quavo says, "Lil boy don't play with me." Throughout the track, Quavo breaks down what happened and why the people who snatched his chain should be scared. "You fucking with the wrong rappers man, we know your address and we got your name. All this for a QC chain, like your mama said boy, you in hot water. Put em on the menu, put em on the plate, cause Quavo wanna make an order," says Quavo in just one of many memorable lines in this diss track.

On December 9, 2014, Migos and Chief Keef's GBE quashed their beef. Migos was in Los Angeles when Chief Keef tweeted out a picture of them together.

      Georgia Southern University concert incident
On April 18, 2015, Migos were scheduled to headline Georgia Southern University's 2015 Spring concert at Hanner Fieldhouse. The show started at 7 P.M. with various opening acts; however, the group took the stage nearly an hour and a half later than their scheduled 9 P.M. set time. Although the university requested a 60 minute performance from Migos, and the performance contract stipulated a minimum 45 minute set length, the group performed for less than 30 minutes before leaving the stage. The University Police Department, the Statesboro Police Department and the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office, who were present at the concert as security detail, detected a strong scent of marijuana from the group's vans, and the drivers were questioned by law enforcement. Upon further investigation, the rap trio and 12 members of their entourage were arrested for misdemeanor and felony drug possession charges as well as felony possession of firearms within a school safety zone and possession of firearms by convicted felons.

On April 20, 2015, Takeoff and Quavo were released on bonds of $10,000 each while Offset remains in custody without bond due to being on probation for prior convictions. While university officials were aware of Migos' reputation, the student body voted to have the group perform among 7 acts that were up for consideration, and student fees and ticket sales were used to pay for the concert. According to the performance contract, the group were to be paid $30,000 with their promoter Big House Collective receiving an additional $3,000; however, after the university's legal counsel reviewed the contract, Migos' and Big House Collective's fees were cut in half due to the group's late arrival, shortened performance time, and possession of contraband on university property. As a result of their arrests, on April 28, 2015, Migos announced they would postpone their "Yung Rich Nation" tour until July. On May 5, 2015, Offset received additional charges for battery and inciting a riot inside a correctional facility after getting into a fight with another inmate in the Bulloch County jail.
