A Marriage Proposal

Well, Thomas had a day in mind

Kept it to himself but showed no signs 

Walking through the park, he knew it would be dark to walk away



And Grace, she had a time with words, saving all the things she'd read and heard

She sensed his grand proposal, and scared now I suppose



Thomas, starting over seemed, like all the fiction characters redeemed

And patience wasn't there, but he knew it was unfair to stay



And Grace, she understood the times that he looked across her eyes so blind

And though the yearn was small, she couldn't help but fall
